In October last Sir F. Goodenough

wrote to Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, enclosing a copy

of the same letter from Sir T. Southorn as that

enclosed in his present letter of March 4th.

Mr. MacDonald considered that little useful

himself

purpose would be served by giving an interview

to Mrs. Thompson, and she was put in touch with

the Department of Overseas Trade. It appears

that commercial firms in this country are as

little interested in the proposed Fair as those

in Hong Kong.
